Managed service available for Palo Alto firewalls

ITC Global Security : 27 October, 2009  (New Product)
Using the next generation enterprise firewalls from Palo Alto Networks, managed service offered by ITC Global Security brings enhanced levels of visibility and control to network administrators enabling control of users, applications and content
ITC Global Security has launched a new fully managed service delivering Palo Alto Networks' next-generation enterprise firewalls. This modular service is available globally and offers customers a predetermined package that can enhance and work in harmony with existing firewalls, or supplant the incumbent enterprise security infrastructure. Companies who sign up for this managed service doubly benefit from ITC's expert 24/7 support infrastructure coupled with the unique features of Palo Alto Networks' next-generation firewalls. These unique features include enabling customers to see and control applications, users, and content - not just ports, IP addresses and packets.

The monthly per-device service offers the following comprehensive support, but is flexible so it can be tailored to individual company requirements.

* 24/7 detection of internal and external security threats
* 24/7 Service Desk support delivered by qualified security operations analysts
* Heuristic, statistical, vulnerability and historical security event correlation
* Incident management and escalation
* Case management tools and workflow
* Integration with trouble ticketing systems
* Status dashboards for IT management; security and operations, status monitoring and reporting
* Status and service reporting interfaces pre-defined and ad hoc; availability, capacity and security monitoring
* Adds, moves and changes monitoring device estate; intra-day threat profile updates
* Service incident and problem management

Palo Alto Networks' patent-pending App-ID technology accurately identifies applications, regardless of port, protocol, evasive tactic or SSL encryption, and scans content to stop threats and prevent data leakage. Importantly it also allows companies to adopt Web 2.0 applications, for example instant messaging, Facebook, Skype, P2P file sharing and SSL based applications, which have become primary threats in today's world. Organisations need to use many of these applications as they enable business processes, enhance employee productivity and foster the right work environment.

Tom Millar, Managing Director, ITC Global Security comments: "Not all companies are in the position to have dedicated IT security teams, so they are looking to partner with experts in this field. That's where ITC comes in. This new Next-Generation Firewall Managed Service gives both our existing and new clients the opportunity to reap rewards in terms of increased security, whilst embracing the exciting new and emerging Web 2.0 technologies."

Nir Zuk, Founder and CTO, Palo Alto Networks, and named a Technology Top Innovator & Influencer together with Barack Obama by InformationWeek comments: "Our firewalls have fundamentally changed the network security industry. Enterprises know traditional firewalls are badly broken and are rapidly moving to our unique next-generation product. Together with companies like ITC, we help enterprises gain the visibility and control they require to secure their networks, while consolidating their information security infrastructures and saving costs."

ITC offer a comprehensive list of managed services based from WAN optimisation, application acceleration, risk assessment and auditing to data leakage prevention and security monitoring and reporting.
