Mailstore Available from Zen Software For Effective E-Mail Archiving

Zen Software : 30 March, 2010  (New Product)
Software Distributor now stocking Mailstore, an e-mail archiving programme which operates with a number of e-mail clients with easy text based search interface available for web browsers, MS Outlook or iPhones
Zen Software has announced the launch of Mailstore email archiving software, a product they claim makes it easy for administrators to solve many of the problems caused by email users with large mailboxes.

Mailstore works with Exchange, MDaemon, Gmail, and any SMTP, IMAP or POP server, to provide a scalable solution for those users wanting fast access to large quantities of email, across multiple email accounts if required.

The archiving software from German developer deepinvent takes a copy of all incoming and outbound email and archives it to a distributed database back end where compression and de-duplication are applied. Messages in the archive are then made available to users via a fast text based search facility in Outlook, a Web interface or an iPhone Web app. With email stored in the archive, significantly less messages need to be held on the server, greatly reducing the load on hardware and ultimately improving the user experience by speeding up the performance of servers and mail clients.

Mailstore's scalable multiple database design is also likely to appeal to companies in the financial and legal sectors required to store email for long periods. deepinvent claim download, installation and configuration of Mailstore can be completed in less than 12 minutes, making it hassle free for companies to test via the 30 day trial.

From today, Mailstore is available from Zen Software's Web site, and Zen are hopeful that a well designed, reliable product, 'per user' pricing and high standard of service and support will prove Mailstore as popular in the UK and Ireland as it is in Germany.

James Steel, Product Manager at Zen Software, the UK & Ireland distributor for deepinvent products, says: 'We like Mailstore primarily due to its simplicity but also how well it scales. A simple setup process is important but the fact it's a single installer, will run on any pc with Windows XP or above and doesn't require any third party databases licensing will be key to the appeal for the small businesses we work with. We've also been very impressed by the speed of the message searching since using the product internally on some fairly sizeable mailboxes, and are just very pleased we're now in a position to offer Mailstore to our own customer base'.
