LPS 1175 Approval For Heras Railing System

BRE Global : 14 January, 2011  (Company News)
The Loss Prevention Certification Board has approved railing systems from Heras UK Fencing for attack resistance
Heras UK Fencing Systems has become the first company to achieve approval for a railing system to LPS 1175. LPS 1175 (Requirements and testing procedures for the LPCB approval and listing of intruder resistant building components, strongpoints, security enclosures and free-standing barriers) specifies eight levels of security with resist times against attack from one minute (opportunist attack) to twenty minutes (highly professional targeted attack).

Paul Griffin, Manufacturing Manager at Heras said "we are pleased to see that all the months of hard work have come to fruition and we are now approved to Security Rating 1 of the LPS 1175 standard. It was a pleasure to work closely with LPCB and I found all their help to be invaluable.”

Richard Flint, LPCB’s Physical Security Certification Scheme Manager said “LPCB are delighted to issue this approval. It not only reflects Heras’s ability to engineer the most secure railing system tested to date, it also demonstrates the versatility of LPS 1175 for use in the assessment and specification of a wide range of products and systems. The scope of security solutions approved to LPS 1175 continues to expand, meeting the needs of specifiers facing an increasingly diverse range of security issues. To our knowledge, no other publicly available standard offers such versatility”.
