London Underground, Secure by Design, MIRA and Adelard discuss security solutions to transport systems on 21 June
The IET has put together a seminar on Cyber Security: Transportation Systems on 21 June to explore these questions. The speakers are drawn from across different modes of transport and their associated systems, but all have faced and overcome cyber security challenges. The day offers attendees the opportunity to translate their experiences into practical workplace use.
Anthony Cross, Control & Information Asset Engineer, CPD, London Underground will look at a practical approach to secure gateway architectures; security threats to ERTMS will be analysed by Robert Stroud, Senior Consultant, Adelard; and Dr Ireri Ibarra, Functional Safety Consultant, MIRA Limited will comment on the functional safety of vehicles.
Chris Vargyas, Senior Project Manager, Secure by Design (SBD) will look at vehicle hacking; exploring how thieves are stealing cars without the original key and anticipating new methods that might be used in the future and how you can protect yourself against them; while Tony Bull, Specialist in Cyber Security for Mission and Safety Critical, Notitia Salu Ltd will draw the other talks together by looking at common security challenges and solutions.
The day concludes with a panel session, where attendees can ask further questions to the speakers and debate: What are the lessons learnt from the safety critical industries?
Cyber Security: Transportation Systems will take place at the Hallam Conference Centre, London, UK on 21 June 2012. You can book to attend via the website http://conferences.theiet.org/secure-transport/index.cfm?origin=pro-security-zone
