Lock maintenance contract for North East England prisons
Following the selection of Kaye Class 1 cell locks for use in the new Cleveland Police headquarters for the Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland Police Districts of Cleveland Police last year, Pickersgill-Kaye has announced that it has also secured the ongoing maintenance contract for the locks.

The Leeds based engineering company says that under the agreement with Reliance Secure Task Management, the PFI manager of the Middlesbrough project, it will carry out an ongoing programme of preventative maintenance on the locks to reduce any risk of emergency call outs and ensure the locks work perfectly every time.

Pickersgill-Kaye is delighted to have secured this maintenance deal for its custodial locks, and believes that as its presence in the custodial market continues to grow it will secure further contracts.

Commenting on the latest success Pickersgill-Kaye's Business Development Manager for Security and Engineering Products, John Moore said: 'Winning this contract means we can take what we believe is a pioneering and proactive approach to maintenance, running a preventative programme which will improve safety for detention officers and detainees alike and reduce the incidence of emergency call-outs. We believe it is an approach which will help extend the working life of each lock.'

The Kaye Class 1 cell lock is designed to prevent self harm and has anti-ligature features. It has been tested to the highest possible standard and forms part of a comprehensive range of high security products from Pickersgill-Kaye, a company which is fast becoming recognised as the UK leader in the design and manufacture of custodial locking solutions.
