Licence compliance seminars scheduled for the UK

The Federation Against Software Theft : 06 October, 2008  (Technical Article)
The Federation Against Software Theft's corporate services division is holding two seminars aimed at assisting corporate managers in achieving licence compliance.
FAST Corporate Services has two exciting events coming up in the next few months.

With companies such as Microsoft, Adobe and Symantec auditing at an ever-increasing rate, it is becoming absolutely necessary to be licence compliant with all software. And, with the tightening economic climate, compliance is not only important for those organisations who are under-licensed and run the risk of getting a hefty fine, but also for those companies which are over-licensed with 41 percent of UK businesses admitting to wasting thousands of pounds every year doing just that. IT security is also rising up the corporate agenda and organisations must understand the legislation relevant to IT security and how they must comply.

FAST is holding two free seminars to help organisations get to grips with the legal requirements around IT security and understand key issues around compliance, licensing and SAM.

ITSG Event - Compliance Question Time - Legislation Relevant to IT Security

Date: 15th October 2008
Venue: Heritage Motor Company, Warwickshire

This half day seminar will explain the legislation relevant to IT security and show how the possible conflicts between the needs for businesses to comply with the legislation and commercial drivers may be resolved. Delegates attending this half day seminar will find out:

• Current security issues/legislation
• Introduction of the legal framework
• Solutions process and how they may be implemented

This session takes place between 9.30am - 1.00pm

After lunch, all delegates will have free access to The Heritage Motor Centre, which houses the World's largest collection of British cars.

Federation's Asset Management Group Event

Date: 27th November 2008
Venue: Windsor Race Course, Berkshire

Delegates attending this event will have the opportunity to choose between 2 breakouts; 'Licensing' and 'Software Asset Management', attending one session before and one after lunch. The AMG would welcome any questions or particular related issues that you would like to see covered during this event.

This seminar will run from 9.30am - 2.30pm.

After the event, delegates are invited to enjoy an exclusive one hour boat trip on the River Thames.
