Law enforcement records management system for Houston police

Tiburon : 22 May, 2009  (Application Story)
Tiburon will provide software facilities for records management as well as jail and corrections management to police in the large Texan city of Houston
The City of Houston Police Department, which includes 5,200 officers and 1,900 civilian personnel who serve 2.2 million people within the City of Houston, has signed a contract with Tiburon for its records management system. Tiburon's records management system will provide the Department with the latest and most efficient law enforcement records management functionality.

"We look forward to working with Tiburon in developing and implementing a large scale public safety system we hope is second to none," said Chief Harold Hurtt of the Houston Police Department. "Our vision is to provide the best service to the citizens of Houston and provide our officers and investigators the best information and tools to do their jobs more effectively."

The Houston Police Department will replace a 25-year-old legacy mainframe-based system with Tiburon's records management solution for a tightly integrated system that delivers accurate and timely information ensuring operational efficiency, improved decision-making capability, increased user acceptance and reduced training requirements.

The Department will also implement Tiburon's jail and corrections management solution as well as its mobile field reporting system, which will allow officers the same access and capability in the field as they have at their office desktops. These systems will be integrated with external public safety systems in Harris County, as well as other regional, state and national systems.

"Our partnership with the Houston Police Department is the perfect union of Tiburon's leadership in public safety technology solutions and the Houston Police Department's expertise in public safety service," said Jeffrey Stone, president and CEO of Tiburon. "We're proud that Tiburon's solutions demonstrated the scalability and reliability needed, and can deliver the vast functional and operational requirements for a major metropolitan agency like Houston, and one of the largest cities in the country. We're looking forward to providing the best technology and services so the Houston Police Department can focus on its mission-critical work."
