Laser scan intruder detection system on show at IFSEC

Optex Europe : 06 April, 2009  (New Product)
Redscan laser scan detector combines detection of target size speed and distance helping to significantly reduce false alarm rates
Optex Europe is to launch three new products to complement its existing range of proven external and internal detection technologies: The Redscan laser scan detector; AX 100/200 TFR wirefree infrared detector; and the new BoudaryGard series with GSM capability.

Redscan, which has been shortlisted for an IFSEC award, is an innovative laser scan detector that can detect a moving object's size, speed and distance, and process that information with a unique algorithm, resulting in high-reliability detection of intruders with minimal false alarms. When mounted vertically, Redscan creates a 60-metre detection area that functions like an invisible wall; if sited horizontally, it creates a detection area with a radius of 30-metres and an ARC of 180 degrees. With four outputs for remote video applications and four truly programmable detection areas linked with these outputs, Redscan is ideal for controlling pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) cameras.

The AX 100/200 TFR is a new wirefree active infrared detector series using twin beams operating at distances of up to 200 metres, designed to eradicate false alarms that might be caused by wind-borne debris, small animals and birds. The product is easy to install and maintain, and highly reliable even in adverse weather or poor environmental conditions.

In line with demand for increased functionality and flexibility, Optex Europe is also upgrading its BoundaryGard series detectors with a new GSM capability. BoundaryGard GSM detectors can be configured to send message alerts for alarm events, arming and disarming confirmation, auto tests, system status and low battery warnings. Other features include selectable automatic arm/disarm time zones, remote arming and disarming, and variable battery life for up to three years in the field. They are ideal for temporary security requirements such as void property protection.

Optex Europe will be exhibiting on Stand B20, Hall 5 at IFSEC.
