Laptop securing ring for car boots.

Avanquest Software : 05 February, 2008  (New Product)
Avanquest develop laptop anti-theft securing system for deterring thieves from taking computers from car boots.
Travelling by car with your laptop? Need to stop at services or at the supermarket on the way home? Worried about leaving your laptop in the car whilst it is parked?

You may think that locked in the boot of a car a laptop is secure, but laptops left in car boots are providing rich pickings for thieves.

Avanquest Solutions has the answer. PC Guardian anti-theft locks secure a laptop to the 'D' ring found in most car boots. If your car does not have a secure fixing point, no problem - Avanquest can supply an easily fitted perma dome mounting plate.

It is so simple … attach the lock to the anchor point in the car boot, place the lock in the security slot on the laptop (usually located at the back or the side of the computer) and lock! Laptops can remain in their case - the lock just passes through a gap left in the zip.

PC Guardian locks have been widely adopted as corporate security standards. The patented tamper resistant locks offer a first line defense against computer theft, both in the office and 'on the move'.

Nigel Trevena, IT Security Advisor at Avanquest Solutions, says "Only as recently as January 10th an MoD laptop was reported to the police as being stolen from a Royal Navy officer's car in Birmingham. Vehicles are not secure, and so with inexpensive laptop locks readily available to secure laptops out of sight in a car boots, why would anyone not do so?"

The locks are available from Avanquest and cost £34.95 to £38.95 each including vat.

The range of locks has recently been expanded to include coloured locks to coordinate with your coloured laptop or company colour.

Corporate discounts are available, plus own branding options for laptop suppliers, travel accessory, car manufacturers and motor accessory suppliers.
