Secure network specialists at StoneSoft comment on the recent UK Government announcement that it plans to make the IT Security vendor accreditation process more simple |
|
In light of the Government’s recent announcement that it is “planning to simplify its accreditation process”, Ash Patel, country manager for UK & Ireland of Stonesoft has made the following comments.
“For the vendors that have been looking to offer their products to the public sector, news that the Government is planning to simplify its accreditation processes is positive.
“Due to accreditation constraints, the public sector is often viewed as a closed market for many vendors and this move will undoubtedly increase the number of new business opportunities in the sector.
“However, hackers attack methods are highly sophisticated and attackers are continuously looking for new ways to evade security. The government is by no means immune to hackers, as has been demonstrated in some of the recent attacks against the Home Office and the MOD.
“It is therefore imperative that the Government ensures that all information held is still comprehensively protected against today’s advanced cyber threats. “ |
