ISO certification for security management centre

Interoute : 12 August, 2008  (New Product)
Compliance and the protection of corporate data offered through the security management service from Interoute has received ISE/IEC 27001 certification
Interoute has announced that its Customer Operations Centre in Prague was awarded ISO/IEC 27001 certification. ISO 27001 is the world recognised security management system, and Interoute attained accreditation through the expansion of its existing security management system, independently audited by Lloyds Register Qualified Assurance Group (LRQA). Interoute has attained certification for its Data Centre operations in Amsterdam and Geneva with plans to complete Stockholm by the end of 2008.

Security is a critical component for data solutions, and Interoute continues to demonstrate operational excellence in addressing the security concerns of customers. The ISO 27001 accreditation of the Prague Customer Operations Centre is reflective of Interoute's ability to understand and deliver secure solutions for the world's leading corporations. The corporate environment requires solutions that sustain regulatory compliance and protect corporate data against increasing security threats, whether fraud, hackers, or viral attacks. Interoute’s application of the ISO 27001 security controls to its customer operations processes ensures security best practices are embedded into Interoute’s core operational processes and systems.

Joe Stevens, Director of Operations Security at Interoute commented “Our customers rely on us to protect their critical data, and the ISO 27001 certification shows how committed we are to maintaining a best practice standard of security management in our operations centres. The certification of our Prague Operations Centre, through the independent auditing authority LRQA, is the latest accreditation we have achieved for our security management, demonstrating our ability to protect customers against security threats and possible vulnerabilities.”

Don Stanley, LRQA Head of Assessment and Training, said, “Interoute's Prague Customer Operations security management system was found to be fully compliant to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard and attained certification. The audit demonstrated Interoute's commitment and application of the information security standard's best practices to protect how the company manages customer data.”

Interoute is accredited to various security standards across its extensive European foot-print. But the decision to move to ISO27001 in 2006 was based on its global recognition as a proven standard for securing information assets.
