iPad Security Breakthrough

OpenTrust : 27 May, 2010  (New Product)
Enterprise users of the Apple iPad can now deploy the device among mobile users with confidence using OpenTrust Mobile for secure Authentication on the move
OpenTrust has successfully secured Apple iPad using its innovative OpenTrust Mobile technology to secure access to corporate networks.

Companies can capitalize on the significant business advantages these OpenTrust technologies represent without putting their organizations at risk. Easy implementation ensures low TCO securing full wireless access to corporate IT networks. OpenTrust Mobile supports the most common Mobile OS including iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows.

This latest OpenTrust development will allow customers to manage digital identities held on the Apple iPad, along with smart phones equipped with Digital IDs, to remotely & automatically authenticate themselves to corporate networks.

OpenTrust Mobile provides corporate network authentication for mobile users and their devices, establishing unquestionable trust between the IT infrastructure, the mobile device and its user. OpenTrust Mobile features profile-based configuration possibilities, making it straightforward to grant different levels of network access to different user populations.

The rapid rise of mobile computing devices as the preferred medium for connecting to private corporate networks has led to an increase in the associated risks and breaches of security concerning the IT infrastructure of enterprises. With the recent release of iPad in 2010, OpenTrust has worked rigorously to work through its OpenTrust Mobile credential management technology to secure iPad.

"iPad is one of many end user platforms we are targeting, including other mobile computing devices and smartphones", said Sherley Brothier, CTO at OpenTrust. "In line with our core mission of building trusted ecosystems, it is important that our authentication offering supports all users, all networks and all devices, in particular mobile ones."
