Intoxication detection system features on US TV.

AcuNetx : 01 May, 2008  (New Product)
HawkEye system for evaluating eye movement to determine intoxication levels in drivers to be demonstrated on US CBS television channel.
AcuNetx has announced that its HawkEye eye observation and recording system employed by law enforcement to establish probable cause for detaining motorists suspected of driving under the influence (DUI) will be the subject of a feature story on CBS 13 Television (Sacramento) to be aired tonight on the station's 10PM newscast. It will post on their website immediately thereafter.

CBS 13 presenter, Brandi Hitt, visited AcuNetx to interview the company's President & CEO, Ron Waldorf, the co-inventor of HawkEye which recently received two US Patents. Also, participating in the interview was Sgt Richard Studdard (LAPD-retired). Sgt Studdard, a consultant to AcuNetx, is credited with being a pioneer of the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Program, which has proven to be an effective means of detecting, apprehending, and properly adjudicating impaired drivers.

Ms Hitt is the subject of a real-life evaluation of HawkEye as part of the news feature. The comparison of her eye signs before and after a social lunch is a very compelling part of the story. Sacramento is home to the California Highway Patrol which, in conjunction with the International Association of Chiefs of Police, is using HawkEye to acquire videos for the national DRE Manual.
