BullGuard has been recognised again for its class-leading protection after receiving the AV-TEST CERTIFIED award from AV-TEST labs for its excellent performance in the latest product review.
In testing a total of 26 consumer internet security products for the Windows 8 operating system, BullGuard Internet Security 2013 beat 24 of them with its combined scores for protection, performance and usability to finish in second place.
AV-TEST is a leading independent international service provider for IT Security and anti-virus research, and is dedicated towards providing customers with detailed information on the latest malware, along with the products that receive the very best scores for protection.
Andreas Marx, CEO of AV-TEST commented: "The year 2013 starts very well for BullGuard - on Windows 8, Internet Security received the best possible score in the 'Protection' category and excellent results for 'Performance' and 'Usability.' In short, it passed all tests with flying colours."
The categories tested include:
PROTECTION: To guard against malware infections (such as viruses, worms or Trojan Horses), 0-day malware attacks, inclusive of web and e-mail threats (Real World Testing), widespread and prevalent malware discovered in the last 4 weeks (the AV-TEST reference set). BullGuard score: the maximum 6/6.
PERFORMANCE: The average impact of the security product on the speed of the computer in daily use. BullGuard score: an impressive 5 out of 6
USABILITY: Disruptions caused by false positives and false warning messages. BullGuard score: 5.5 out of 6.
BullGuard Internet Security 2013 uses cutting-edge behavioural protection to detect new viruses based on how they act on a computer. Combined with signature-based detection for known threats, this helped it to score a perfect 100% for both protection against 0-day malware attacks, inclusive of web and e-mail threats, and detection of widespread and prevalent malware discovered in the last 4 weeks. Its safe browsing tools also reported zero false warnings or blockages when visiting websites.
"BullGuard, both the product and the company, are deeply defined by providing uncompromising protection balanced with the best user experience available. That translates as continuously fine-tuned behavioural engines, an intuitive interface, low impact on system resources and a keen desire to make the web a safer place for all users," said BullGuard Head of Product Management, Alex Balan. " Our goal is to ensure that absolutely no threat can harm the user's system or data and it's a real thrill to see our core values confirmed by the independent testers as well as our user base."
Alongside this class-leading protection, BullGuard Internet Security customers benefit from a range of additional tools including 5GB of free online backup, a vulnerability scanner, parental controls, PC Tune-up tools and free 24/7 support, making it one of the most comprehensive security suites on the market.
