Innovation recognition for analogue video encoders

Avigilon : 21 December, 2009  (New Product)
Avigilon's analogue video encoder brings industry recognition for ability to make use of legacy analogue camera technology on high definition megapixel networks
Avigilon has announced that the company's ENC-4PORT analogue video encoder has been named in the Security Sales & Integration Magazine's "Top 30 Technology Innovations" for 2009 which appeared in the December 2009 issue of the magazine. Avigilon analogue video encoders allow security professionals to integrate existing NTSC or PAL analogue cameras into an Avigilon High Definition Surveillance System - enabling companies to realize the benefits of high-definition surveillance, while making use of existing investments in security technologies.

"Avigilon has had one of the most unique lineups for some time now, going up to a 16-megapixel camera with JPEG2000 compression. But the company knows not every customer can afford MegaPixel video; that's the reason for the ENC-4port analogue encoder," said Steve Payne, technical writer for Security Sales & Integration magazine. "Using the same JPEG2000 algorithm and HD stream management technology of its bigger MegaPixel brothers this cost effective encoder provides a first step into the IP world, and produces an image that improves on the analogue source."

"Avigilon delivers the industry's only end-to-end High Definition surveillance system designed specifically for high definition performance," said Dave Tynan, vice-president of sales and marketing for Avigilon. "A key part of our overall solution, the Avigilon analogue video encoder enables organizations to cost-effectively make use of their existing analogue cameras to realize the benefits of high definition surveillance. We are pleased to be recognized by Security Sales & Integration Magazine."

The Avigilon 4-port analogue video encoder is designed to integrate legacy analogue cameras into a High Definition IP Surveillance system. It supports NTSC and PAL video standards and includes an RS-485 interface for PTZ support and an external I/O interface for connecting alarms and relays. The encoder seamlessly integrates with Avigilon Control Center NVMS and High Definition NVRs using standard network equipment creating a network based surveillance solution with unmatched performance, ease of use, and ease of installation.

Avigilon Control Center is the award winning HD Network Video management software with High Definition Stream Management (HDSM) that delivers full situational awareness and detail, leading to faster response times, reduced investigation times, and superior overall protection. Avigilon Control Center is available as stand alone software or pre-installed and configured on Avigilon HD NVRs. Avigilon Control Center is a secure and reliable open enterprise class Network Video management platform for capturing, managing, and storing high definition surveillance video while efficiently managing bandwidth and storage. Providing the industry with a complete HD and MegaPixel surveillance system, Avigilon offers the industry's greatest choice in HD cameras from one to 16 megapixels.
