Innovation award for ThreatSentry

Privacyware : 05 June, 2008  (New Product)
Web application firewall wins product innovation award for intrusion prevention coupled with protection against attacks on web applications
Privacyware has announced that Network Products Guide, a Silicon Valley Communications publication has named ThreatSentry a winner of the 2008 Product Innovation Award in the Web Application Firewall category. This annually venerated award recognizes and honours vendors from all over the world with innovative and ground-breaking products that are bringing essential and incremental changes and are setting the bar higher for others in all areas of information technology.

ThreatSentry is a web application firewall and intrusion prevention solution that protects Microsoft IIS Web servers, web applications and related systems from known and new internal or external attacks such as SQL Injection, Cross-site scripting, Parameter Manipulation, Denial of Service, and other threats. ThreatSentry combines machine and mentored learning, a knowledge-base of documented exploits, and an AI-based analytic engine specifically designed for Windows web servers that continuously collects, analyzes and organizes server requests into an evolving baseline of acceptable activity. Each server connection is compared against the web application firewall rules and knowledgebase and the evolving system profile to identify and take action against any activity falling outside of trusted parameters.

"The goal of any product innovation must always remain a positive change, making or improving solutions better than before," said Rake Narang, editor-n-chief, Network Products Guide. "ThreatSentry's innovative neural technologies advance web application security and enable customers to be proactive against the rising volume and sophistication of threats facing a company's web applications and related systems."

"Consistent with the increasingly lucrative rewards available to individuals engaged in cyber-crime, the complexity, speed and volume of web application threats continues to intensify," said Privacyware CEO, Greg Salvato. "Privacyware was founded on a vision of delivering innovative defense capabilities through specialized analytics and neural technologies that assist corporate security personnel in effectively addressing the serious implications of web application vulnerabilities, highly-motivated online criminals, and urgent compliance challenges. We are tremendously proud to receive Network Products Guide's 2008 Product Innovation Award in recognition of ThreatSentry and its innovative approach to web application security."

ThreatSentry is available for purchase or 30-day trial download via the Privacyware web site or through an authorised Privacyware reseller. ThreatSentry pricing starts at $649 per server and supports Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003 and Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0/6.0.
