Industrial media converters in rugged enclosures

Axiomtek : 01 December, 2009  (New Product)
The iCON-32900 rugged range of media converters from Axiomtek have been designed to cater for the need for additional fibre in industrial and harsh environments
Industrial media converters in rugged enclosures
Axiomtek's iCON-32900 series of rugged media converters is designed to convert Ethernet network signals to fibre network signals. The iCON-32900 series applies high quality components with advantages of wide operating temperature range and long MTBF. To enhance system reliability, the converters offer 'Link Fault Pass Through' feature, redundant power, and relay output alarm. Axiomtek's iCON-32900 series provides users a cost-effective solution to connect two types of network segments easily.

The iCON-32900L media converter transforms 100Base-TX (Copper Gigabit) media to 100Base-FX (Fibre Gigabit) media in multi-mode or single mode fiber optic. The RJ-45 port on the unit is dual speed 10/100Mbps with half/full duplex auto sensing. The iCON-32900L series comes with Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) for easily tracing the network link failure. Moreover, the iCON-32900L series is designed with an IP20 aluminum housing helps dissipate heat efficiently, allowing system to operate under extremely high temperature conditions. Better than a regular converter, the iCON-32900L series has switching capabilities that are able to filter traffic and record MAC addresses.

The iCON-32900 series is the Fast Ethernet media converters which support operating temperature range from -40°C to +75°C and accept a wide voltage range from +12 to 48 VDC. The iCON-32900 series comes with Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) for easily tracing the network link failure. To enhance system reliability, this offers redundant power and alarm for power failure and port link failure by relay output. Besides, the iCON-32900 series meets NEMA TS1/2 standard for traffic control equipment, UL 1604 safety standard for hazardous environment of explosive or flammable conditions, and UL60950 standard for information technology equipment.

"Axiomtek's iCON-32900 rugged and hardened media converters allow you to connect twisted-pair network to optical-fiber network easily and cost-effectively. These stand-alone converters are designed to fit the emerging deployment needs of optical fibre network," said Philip Wei, Product Manager of Applied Computing Platforms Business Unit at Axiomtek. "To enhance system reliability, the converters offer Link Fault Pass Through feature, redundant power and relay output alarm. Combining rugged IP30 enclosure, great heat dissipation and -40°C ~ +75°C wide-operating temperature range, the iCON-32900 series keeps your industrial applications running non-stop. Additionally, different types of 100Base-FX fibre transceivers are also available upon by request."

Each converter can be DIN-rail, rack, or panel mounted. These RoHS compliant products are available now.
