A highly secure paper label featuring a hologram has won the Best Applied Security Product Award at the International Hologram Manufacturers Association’s (IHMA) Excellence in Holography Awards 2013 in Delhi (NCR), India.
Holostik India Ltd’s Exodus label is produced from 105 gsm art paper with four colour printing and one spot varnishing and features holographic characters including full visibility, embossed effect, microtext, kinnetgram and 2D/3D depth effect.
Organised by the IHMA, the annual Excellence in Holography Awards recognise outstanding achievement and reward those who have been at the forefront of the industry, pioneering innovative or new hologram products or techniques, as well as the best use of holograms in a commercial context.
Delegates from hologram suppliers, manufacturers and users around the world gathered at the awards, which were presented at the annual industry dinner on November 8 during The Holography Conference. They were able to see a display of products and applications which showcased the diverse security, anti-counterfeiting and packaging benefits provided by cutting-edge holographic technologies.
The awards are open to anyone involved in a hologram project while others can nominate holographic projects as long as they provide details of the user or producer of the hologram. Entries were judged by the IHMA Board, representatives of the worldwide industry elected by IHMA members.
IHMA chairman Mike Messmer said: “The judges were impressed by Holostik’s Exodus which led the way among the entries, reinforcing how holography continues to push forward technical and commercial boundaries to find new applications and markets.”
The IHMA is made up of nearly 100 of the world's leading producers and converters of holograms for banknote security, anti-counterfeiting, brand protection, packaging, graphics and other commercial applications around the world. Member companies actively cooperate to maintain the highest professional, security and quality standards.
