Improved Performance And Reduced Template Size in Face Recognition Algorithm

Cognitec Systems : 21 December, 2011  (New Product)
Cognitec has released new versions of its Biometric Face Recognition SDC and DBScan with performance enhancements and reduced facial template size
Improved Performance And Reduced Template Size in Face Recognition Algorithm
Cognitec Systems has released two product upgrades with the new face recognition algorithm B6T8. The new versions of FaceVACS-DBScan and FaceVACS-SDK are now available for integrators and end-customers.

While reassuring Cognitec’s industry-leading identification performance for various face recognition benchmarks, the B6T8 engine performs particularly well for low resolution images and images with non-frontal view, i.e., faces turned to the side, up or down. These improvements make the new algorithm highly suitable for processing video input data. The algorithm also shows better performance results for images with systematic noise, e.g. stripes introduced by a defect scanner. Compared to its predecessor, the B6 engine generates a 30% smaller facial template for each image, resulting in 10% faster matching speed and reduced computer memory requirements.

New product releases are available as follows:

FaceVACS-DBScan 4.7 enables users to compare still images from different sources to those stored in multi-million image databases and instantly view match lists with the most similar identities. With the Examiner application within FaceVACS-DBScan, investigators can use a powerful tool- and filter set to enhance low-quality images from crime scene photos and surveillance videos and then identify the individuals against mug shot repositories.

FaceVACS-SDK 8.5, the new version of Cognitec’s comprehensive software development kit, provides all the development tools for face recognition use cases, e.g. enrollment, verification, identification, face tracking, and portrait characteristics measurement. The FaceVACS-SDK has been used by developers and integrators around the world to create state-of-the-art face recognition applications.
