Imprivata gains experienced federal markets expert onto board.

Imprivata : 31 July, 2008  (Company News)
Former Identix CEO joins board of Imprivata, bringing extensive experience of dealing with federal clients in the user authentication market
Imprivata has announced the appointment of Bob McCashin to its Board of Directors. Formerly chairman, CEO and director of Identix, a leader in designing, developing, and manufacturing multi-biometric security products, and corporate vice president of EDS, a provider of enterprise customer management solutions, Mr McCashin brings more than 35 years of experience in security and information services to Imprivata. He will provide valuable counsel as Imprivata continues to meet growing market demand for authentication solutions, and specifically as the company extends its reach deeper into government markets.

"Mr McCashin's extensive expertise in working with the federal government, coupled with his success in building and managing global companies will be a tremendous asset to Imprivata," said Omar Hussain, president and CEO of Imprivata. "His guidance navigating federal markets will help Imprivata expand its footprint by helping government organizations solve the increasing authentication and access challenges they face."

Currently serving as Executive Chairman for Integrian, a provider of advanced mobile surveillance systems, Mr McCashin is also Director for Peerless Manufacturing, a provider of custom-engineered systems and products, and Argon ST, a systems engineering, development and services company.

"Imprivata has driven tremendous growth in both their worldwide customer base and product functionality over the past few years," said Bob McCashin. "With its talented team and innovative technology, Imprivata has achieved the dominant position in the access and authentication management sector, and I look forward to lending my experiences to help extend its leadership in the industry."

Prior to his directorship positions, Mr. McCashin's tenure at Identix included moving the company to the NASDAQ and leading the acquisition of Visoinics, thereby positioning Identix as the worldwide leader in multi-biometric security products.

Prior to Identix, Mr. McCashin held various positions at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), a leading global services company. His final role at EDS was President and CEO of Centrobe, the business unit created out of the consolidation of EDS worldwide call centres and database operations. There, Mr McCashin spearheaded the acquisition of Neodata, and merged several units into Centrobe. The company achieved 1998 revenues of $830M with expected 1999 revenues of $1 billion under Mr McCashin's leadership. During his tenure at EDS, Mr McCashin also led their Federal Business and has extensive international relations experience both in Europe and in South and Central America.

Mr McCashin is a graduate of St. Johns University in New York.
