Ikena Video Forensic software available from Matek

Matek Business Media : 02 June, 2009  (New Product)
Enhancement software from Matek Business Media provides law enforcement bodies with the capability of extracting useful information for sources of poor quality video
Matek Business Media, specialist integrators and resellers of broadcast, post production and video forensic solutions has been appointed a worldwide distributor of Ikena, Video Forensic enhancement software.

Ikena by Motion DSP is a revolutionary video enhancement/forensic solution for Intelligence and Law Enforcement applications. Able to run on any Windows PC (laptop or desktop), its powerful multi-frame enhancement technology can quickly and dramatically extract information from poor video sources such as: mobile phones, YouTube videos, and surveillance cameras. In seconds, faces and objects can be enhanced, and license plates can be read.

Ikena requires minimal training, runs well on inexpensive laptops, and very fast on high-end desktops. And, Ikena GPU can run up to 5 times faster on compatible NVIDIA® Computer Graphics cards.

Ikena extracts information from multiple frames of video, reconstructing details not visible in the original sequence. It can then output both enhanced video sequences and high-resolution stills.

Unlike standard frame-averaging techniques, Ikena's algorithms are capable of tracking complex motion, and can therefore enhance both moving and non-moving objects, and complex scenes which combine both camera motion and object motion. Ikena's multi-frame algorithms can significantly reduce both sensor and compression noise.

Matek have been appointed an international distributor after successfully bringing the product into the UK market. The product has been received with great interest throughout the country and a number of UK Police forces and agencies have already taken delivery of Ikena.

'I have seen real benefit from this system, it's very, very good,' said Neil Morgans - a forensic specialist at South Wales Police. '....Ikena puts us at the very frontier of Police video technology.'
