Identity theft partnership agreement

LifeLock : 06 July, 2009  (Company News)
LifeLock and Motivano reach agreement on providing identity theft protection to users of Motivano employee benefit technology
Identity theft continues to escalate in our nation, as evidenced by the growth of complaints filed with the Federal Trade Commission by more than 21 percent in 2008. Incidents of this often devastating crime are growing in all avenues, with government documents, benefits and employment fraud counting for 30 percent of all fraud claims filed with the FTC.

LifeLock and Motivano, a provider of employee benefit technologies, have entered into an agreement to help employees and their families protect themselves against this growing crime. Users of Motivano's various benefit online portal systems will now be able to receive LifeLock's comprehensive identity theft protection services at a discounted rate. Motivano serves thousands of companies nationwide, including several Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies.

"Identity theft is growing at alarming rates, making it more urgent than ever that we educate families about the risks that are out there and provide them with solutions to best protect themselves," said LifeLock Vice President of Partner Sales Steve McGrady. "We are proud to partner with Motivano, as they put the safety and security of those they serve at the forefront."

According to the Federal Trade Commission identity theft and identity fraud complaints have increased from 230,000 to more than 1.2 million since 2000. An ever-increasing crime, the FTC reports that complaints of identity theft and identity fraud are costing Americans more than $1.2 billion annually.

"Motivano wants to ensure that we're offering not just discounts, but valuable products for increased security. LifeLock is a vital part of that effort," said Chip Hunziker, Motivano's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
