Identity based access projects win awards

Avenda Systems : 03 December, 2009  (New Product)
Two customers of Avenda using the eTIPS identity-based network access platform have received accolades from InfoWorld
Avenda Systems, the innovator in identity-aware network security, has announced that customers the University of San Diego and East Grand Rapids Public Schools were recognized with InfoWorld 100 Awards from IDG's InfoWorld for using enterprise technology in smart, and innovative ways. Their secure network access control projects are powered by Avenda's eTIPS identity-based network access platform.

The InfoWorld 100 Awards recognize each year the 100 most innovative uses of IT initiatives to further business goals. To be considered for an InfoWorld 100 Award, projects must use multiple technologies in innovative ways to serve well-defined business goals.

"This year's recipients of InfoWorld's highest honour are shining examples of IT projects undertaken by tech leaders committed to pushing their organizations forward," said Jason Snyder, Features Editor, InfoWorld.

The University of San Diego was recognized for its campus-wide guest access wireless security project integrating Avenda Systems with Aruba Networks and CashNet PCI compliant payment service. In the case of the East Grand Rapids School District, it earned its InfoWorld 100 Award for its secure campus access project which integrates Avenda's eTIPS with Cisco WLAN and firewalls, and Enterasys switches to support a district-wide identity and resource management solution.

"These customers are good examples of how companies are leveraging Avenda's eTIPS to help meet key business objectives, and we are pleased to see them recognized for their efforts," said Trent Fierro, Avenda Systems Director of Marketing. "The industry and customers continue to recognize the integration benefits of our standards-based eTIPS solution for identity-based access security."

Avenda's eTIPS identity-aware policy platform offers the only access control solution that centrally manages policies across access methods, operating systems, computers, iPhones and handhelds, and existing identity stores. Built-in guest access, AAA-RADIUS, and endpoint health verification tools ensure users gaining access to networks are checked for identity and multiple vulnerabilities.
