Identicom with man-down feature detects incapacity.

Connexion2 : 16 April, 2007  (New Product)
Identicom lone worker protection now incorporates programmable feature for the detection of injury and incapacity to improve industrial safety.
Lone worker specialists, Connexion2, the developer and manufacturer of the award winning Identicom lone worker protection device is unveiling its all- new, Identicom with Man-Down. An extension of the award-winning, Identicom lone worker device, Identicom with Man-Down is targeted at sectors such as construction, security, utilities and logistics, which employ a large number of lone workers who may be at risk of injury as well as attack and abuse.

Employers in sectors with workers at risk of injury are increasingly conscious of the risks and costs associated with the safety of these workers. The expected incoming legislation on Corporate Manslaughter is also focusing the minds of those with workers operating alone.

Identicom with Man-Down incorporates the capability for a manned monitoring centre to be alerted, either manually or automatically, in the case of injury or incapacity of the user. The state-of-the-art technology enables the device to detect an employee in difficulty including tilt, immobility and sudden impact detection as well as non-response time alert, rip alarm and manual call button. It will be sold and supported through SoloProtect as well as other qualified channel partners.

Launched this year, SoloProtect is a best-of-breed service for lone workers delivering total peace of mind to worker and employer alike. For an all-inclusive price of just £29.50 per month, the SoloProtect service provides the five-core elements that are essential for a credible and complete lone worker solution. Incorporating the Identicom device, SIM and inclusive airtime, face to face user training, 24 hour manned monitoring to BS5979 Cat II and the unique TotalCare pre & post sale customer support, SoloProtect provides customers with an uncomplicated but complete approach to pricing, implementation and use.

Any business or organisation currently assessing how to protect their valuable lone working staff needs to consider the cost benefits of implementing a technology based solution. Connexion2 will be on hand on Stand 4039 to offer clear advice on lone worker protection and discuss implementation of its product range.
