Hybrid Analogue and IP DVR from Bosch

Bosch Security Systems : 27 February, 2009  (New Product)
Digital Video Recorder from Bosch features support for H.264 IP input as well as analogue and enables direct DVD writing for video clips
Hybrid Analogue and IP DVR from Bosch
The new Bosch Divar XF embedded DVR (Digital Video Recorder) offers future-proof investment protection with hybrid functionality supporting 8 or 16 analogue cameras and up to 8 H.264 IP (Internet Protocol) video streams. Bosch has also packed in a host of advanced features to ensure the best possible recording quality and maximum protection of recorded video.

The Divar XF offers real-time recording and playback at up to full 4CIF resolution on all channels, providing high-quality images for both live viewing and recorded video. Moreover, featuring advanced H.264 compression technology, the unit minimizes system bandwidth and storage requirements. Storage costs are reduced by up to 30% compared with systems that use traditional MPEG-4 encoding.

Video is stored on up to four internal hard disk drives, assuring maximum protection of recorded video. The drives are accessible from the front of the unit, facilitating easy servicing and providing the flexibility to add additional drives and/or larger-capacity disks when needed. Capacity can be expanded up to 4 terabytes by installing a Bosch storage expansion kit. The Divar XF also supports onboard optimized RAID-4 (Redundant Array of Independent Disks)-technology to deliver uninterrupted system reliability, even in the event of a drive failure.

In addition, the Divar XF range includes models with built-in DVD burner, enabling video clips to be burnt directly to disc without the need for a PC.

A keyboard loop-through feature allows up to 16 Divar XF recorders to be controlled from a single Bosch IntuiKey keyboard. This allows full control over systems with multiple recorders and with up to 384 PTZ cameras using just one joystick.

Divar XF units already in service can be upgraded with version 2.0 firmware at no charge. Version 2.0 firmware and PC software for remote access is now available on the Bosch Security Systems website. Some new features require an optional software license.

The Divar XF is intended primarily for medium- to large-scale or growing surveillance systems in for example shopping centers, banks and financial institutions, city centers, casinos and hotel complexes.
