Hosted Two-Factor Authentication Available Through Web-Hosting Company

Signify : 25 January, 2011  (Application Story)
Signify is supplying Network EQ with fully-hosted two-factor authentication services for enabling secure remote access for its staff and clients

Web-hosting company Network EQ has chosen Signify’s fully-hosted, two-factor authentication ((2FA)) services to provide both existing and new customers with a flexible range of token-based and tokenless (2FA) options, without large upfront costs or the need to employ specialist skills. Network EQ is also using the Signify service internally to secure remote log-ons for its own employees, as well as for staff at an external bookkeeping company.

Network EQ provides a wide range of off-the-shelf and bespoke web hosting services for organisations of all sizes; ranging from shared hosting up to multi-server customised hosting solutions. Network EQ delivers high levels of network security for all of its clients, particularly those in the medical, financial and legal sectors.

“For our customers handling sensitive data bound by strict regulations and compliance, (2FA) adds an additional layer of protection for access to our network. By offering a hosted service, our customers have minimal up front costs and fuss,” said Ben Organ, Network EQ’s Managing Director. “We chose Signify because it has the entire (2FA) infrastructure already in place and is a well-proven secure, reliable and flexible solution that we can offer to our customers – large and small.”

Along with integrating Signify’s managed (2FA) service into its hosting services, Network EQ has also started using it in house. Employees needing regular remote access are issued with an RSA SecurID token that produces a new unique one-time passcode (OTP) every 60 seconds. However, for more occasional users, such as external bookkeepers with file share access, Network EQ is also using Signify’s passcode on demand service that will deliver a OTP to a mobile phone on request.

“One of the most important benefits of the Signify service is the ability to mix and match authentication methods depending not just on the business or organisation, but also down to the individuals and the way they work. Signify’s services are invaluable for us and for our customers,” said Ben Organ.

Dave Abraham, CEO at Signify, said: “Our
(2FA) services make it easy and cost-effective for our partners to offer their customers flexible and secure authentication that can be deployed within days and with minimal up-front costs. We are delighted that Network EQ has recognised the importance of (2FA) and is working with us to help keep its customers secure.”
