Holistic Threat Protection For Family Computer Users

Kaspersky Lab UK : 03 November, 2010  (New Product)
PURE from Kaspersky Lab provides comprehensive protection for home computer users including anti-virus, internet filtering and protection from phishing
Kaspersky Lab has launched the latest version of its all-in-one security package, Kaspersky PURE, designed to keep individuals and families safe and secure online. Kaspersky PURE can protect home computers from all types of online threats, including spam, virus infection and identity theft, ensuring users can take advantage of everything the internet offers, while minimising the associated risks.

As well as including anti-malware, anti-spam and anti-phishing modules, the software includes an extended parental control module, allowing parents to prevent children from accessing or receiving inappropriate content while online. This module can be used to limit the time children spend on the computer, block access to selected content, and monitor the use of email and social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Kaspersky PURE also includes a built-in backup programme, preventing the loss of precious family material such as photographs and music.

"We encourage our children to stay safe outside, not to speak to strangers and to let us know if they are being bullied," said Malcolm Tuck, managing director, Kaspersky Lab UK. "Internet security enables us to protect them in the same way in the virtual world. Kaspersky PURE lets parents set strong parental controls that provide peace of mind and security while allowing young people to enjoy the best the internet can offer in terms of social media, entertainment and knowledge."

The latest version of Kaspersky PURE also includes enhanced functionality and an improved user interface, making it easy for families to install and manage. From this interface parents can set up keyword monitoring to stop messages and emails from being sent if they contain predefined phrases, such as phone numbers and home addresses. The interface also allows users to securely store and manage passwords as well as scan all home PCs for viruses and vulnerabilities and fine tune the security settings of the operating system and internet browser.
