Highlights from RISCO USA first year in business

Risco Group USA : 23 September, 2009  (Company News)
With innovations in outdoor intrusion detection and PIR motion detectors, RISCO Group USA has enjoyed considerable success in its first year of business
RISCO Group USA this month marks their first anniversary of business operations, achieving their goal of empowering a broad spectrum of users in the US market with proven system solutions. During their inaugural year RISCO Group USA unveiled a wide array of innovative technologies. From the WatchOUT Exteme Reliable Outdoor Intrusion Detector to the iREX and iREX Plus intelligent passive infrared (PIR) motion detectors for request-to-exit (REX) applications, RISCO Group USA is leveraging the power of technology to boost system functionality and reliability. At the systems level, RISCO Group USA's flagship ProSYS Integrated Security System now features a responsive and intuitive touchscreen user interface. RISCO Group's SynopSYS Integrated Security and Building Management System provides site management and control from a simple interface, using intuitive synoptic maps to allow command and control of security, video monitoring, fire detection, access control and other building automation systems.

"The response to our business during the first 12 months of operation has been truly phenomenal, and very gratifying. These are tough economic times to Expand a business, but the power of RISCO Group USA's technologies have grabbed the market's attention and paved the way for a very successful first year," said Len Friedman, President and CEO of RISCO Group USA. "The US marketplace has greeted our innovative product line enthusiastically because it meets their challenging and changing needs. We look forward to our second year being even better as we continue to deliver the most flexible, end-to-end security systems solutions backed by superior customer service."

Although RISCO Group USA was launched in September 2008, their parent company, RISCO Group Ltd., has been manufacturing quality security products for three decades. Those products have been sold in the United States for 20 years under the name Rokonet Industries. RISCO Group USA was formed to expand those product offerings with a focus on integrated systems solutions.

Here are some highlights from RISCO Group USA's first year:

* Introduction of the WatchOUT eXtreme, an enhanced version of the award-winning WatchOUT Reliable Outdoor Intrusion Detector. It is the only outdoor detector to feature two microwave and two PIR detection channels. WatchOUT eXtreme's Sway Recognition technology recognizes objects such as swaying bushes and trees that would trigger traditional intruder detection systems. Active IR Anti-Mask detects any masking of the lens (by vandals) or other impediment to viewing.

* Unveiling of the iREX and iREX Plus intelligent passive infrared (PIR) motion detectors. The iREX can be wall- or ceiling-mounted (up to 15 feet), offers selectable Fail Safe or Fail Secure mode and provides adjustable relay latch time. Rotating the lens position on installation can provide a variety of coverage patterns and detection ranges (up to 8 feet). The iREX Plus detector provides additional security incorporating IQ Logic (Intelligent Queuing); motion detection is enabled only on the condition that an additional device (such as a floor switch, additional PIR or keycard) has been activated. IQ Logic eliminates the possibility of someone gaining unauthorized entry by sliding an object under the door to trigger the sensor.

* Addition of a responsive touchscreen keypad to the ProSYS Integrated Security
System, an ideal system for protecting remote sites using dual-path IP and GSM/GPRS communications. The new keypad puts simplified and completely integrated protection and control of remote sites literally at the fingertips of users. The touchscreen incorporates an elegant, low-profile design and highly responsive glass screen on a 7-inch display with a cool blue backlight
