Online anti-virus tool from BitDefender provides fast scanning of computers for malware using a browser add-on
High Speed Virus Scanning With Quickscan
Bitdefender, an award-winning provider of innovative antivirus solutions, today released a faster, smoother version of its free Quickscan online tool that allows millions of users to check their computers for malware in less than a minute.

Using Bitdefender’s industry-leading technologies, last year QuickScan caught almost half a million infections. The new version has improved performance even further, boasts a number of fresh design changes, and works seamlessly with new browsers.

“The security of users is our paramount concern, and we are proud that QuickScan is one of the fastest and most effective ways to check whether your computer is infected. Just ask the millions of people who used it last year,” said Razvan Costache, QuickScan’s product marketing manager. “We’re confident that these changes will make QuickScan an even more popular tool in the fight against malware and other online threats.”

QuickScan, which was accessed by 2.9 million users in 2011 and turned up almost half a million infections, is available as a small add-on for the most popular internet browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. Once installed, it takes just one click and 60 seconds for BitDefender QuickScan to check users’ PCs for free, allowing them to make an informed decision on whether they need help removing malware or installing further security protection.
