High speed secure e-mail handling

Network Box : 11 August, 2009  (New Product)
Network Box' mail portal increases mail handling speed whilst offering comprehensive simple statistics for administrators
Managed security company, Network Box, has released a number of enhancements to its customer mail portal that improve the speed of mail handling by three to five times, and simplify the way data is presented to users.

Email data is laid out so that email administrators can see at a glance how their mail service is performing, and any issues affecting it. A simplified home page to the mail portal now shows (both as lists and graphics):

* Top five email senders and recipients in the last 24 hours
* Latest 15 messages
* Type of mail (whether it is spam or malware)
* Volume of sent versus incoming email
* A breakdown of the type and status of mail by time period.

For more details on any of these, users can click through to the relevant sections of the portal, that list email activity by user, email type, date and status. For example, under the 'type of mail' section, emails are colour coded so users can see easily whether email contains malware (red), spam (orange) or is clear (white). As with previous versions of the system, each email is given a spam score based on Network Box's 'eMail Relationship' technology, which recognises spam based on an understanding of the relationship between sender and recipient, as well as by traditional anti-spam methods.

Simon Heron, Internet Security Analyst for Network Box says: "Our customers want to see the health of their email system at any given time. The new version of the mail portal lets them monitor email activity quickly and easily. For example, you can now tell instantly where the heaviest use is coming from, or whether you are experiencing a heavier than usual malware load."
