Hardware security module for improved transaction security.

SafeNet : 10 April, 2008  (New Product)
Luna XML hardware security module delivers easy to install encryption based security for web transaction applications.
SafeNet has announced the availability of its Luna XML Hardware Security Module (HSM), the world's easiest to deploy and integrate HSM for web services applications and transaction security.

"The Luna XML is another product milestone that establishes SafeNet as the HSM market leader," said Chris Holland, SafeNet's vice president of product management. "SafeNet was the first company to introduce a network attached HSM, the first company to introduce HSM partitioning, and now we are once again transforming the marketplace with the Luna XML."

SafeNet continues its innovative firsts with the Luna XML, a Web Services HSM that combines the benefits of being network attached and supporting virtualised segmentation with a modern API that drastically reduces integration and deployment times. HSMs provide reliable protection for applications, transactions, and information assets by safeguarding the cryptographic keys that are at the heart of any encryption-based security solution.

"With some applications, HSM integration can be complicated and costly by the fact that they require advanced knowledge of cryptographic APIs," said Holland. "The Luna XML streamlines the integration process, saving resources and money by reducing the level of technical knowledge required for securing sensitive data."
