Guard tour system eliminates need for hand-written entries

Orange Technologies : 28 July, 2009  (New Product)
Touch Track Data provides guard tour tracking technology with the capability of entering real-time information on site during security inspections and audits
For security professionals, collecting complete, reliable observational data at strategic locations has heretofore been limited, forcing managers to add handwritten notes. Reports are based on information collected during inspections, and security audits frequently reveal critical data is missing, resulting in incomplete reports. Guard Tour Tracking Documentation currently only offers limited incident reporting capability and lack the ability to handle critical entries, such as alphanumeric incident notations.

OTI's new Touch Data Track is more than just a Guard Tour System. It offers security professionals a complete data collection solution. Exclusive features offer the option to collect and access 1,000 incident descriptions, and the ability to enter backup alphanumeric information. Now security can document each incident, recording critical back-up data at the scene, including incident type, room number, name, fire extinguisher inspections (including zone/location), license plate, and more. There are no limitations.

Imagine reviewing a report stating only: 2nd Floor, 'Door Unsecured'. With the room number not indicated, the report is incomplete. And incomplete reports open the door to liability issues and can cause facilities to run afoul of tight post-9/11 incident reporting requirements. Now managers can avoid potentially expensive liability issues because security officers can now document what they 'observe', not just where they have been.

Management wants accountability and standardized inspection methods for all departments, including security, safety, engineering, and housekeeping. With only limited Incident choices offered by present systems, they are not at all sufficient. Touch>Data, however, allows staff to record all necessary data.

Security faces minimum annual budgets in excess of $100,000 for each site, yet still often relies on software supplied by Guard Companies. Those systems are based on cost, not on obtaining complete documentation.

While security management is replacing barcodes, due to being easily copied and can be used to manipulate reports, OTI is ahead of the curve. Touch Data utilizes iButtons, with a Touch at each inspection location achieve positive verification of the 'Who, What, When, Where, and Status' of any activity, incident, or task. They cannot be copied, are made using stainless steel, size of a dime, can be reprogrammed, and may be used outside for years to come.

OTI customers are very happy with Touch Data. One recent email comment came from a customer who states they had gone through three other systems over the years: 'We just completed the install and I find Touch Data to be the best product we have ever installed at this property.'

Touch Data Track offers the Solution to gather necessary information to make informed decisions, maintain complete facilities records and ward off liability resulting from limited documentation.

Market analysis illustrates multiple markets/industries utilize advantages with electronic data collection, including: Office Buildings, Hotels/Resorts, Hospitals/Medical Centers, Government, Manufacturers, Pharmaceuticals, Gaming/Casinos, Law Enforcement, Prisons, and more.
