Leading mobile security experts are preparing to gather in London later this month for the IET’s Security for Mobile Devices seminar. The day has been designed to offer all telecoms professionals some of the latest theoretical updates and a range of practical solutions that can be taken back to the workplace.
The day features a wealth of the UK’s leading experts, ready to share their advice and experience. Charles Brookson, Security Group Chairman, GSM Association will examine the latest in mobile phone security, including what the personal and corporate user can do to protect themselves.
Government and police responses are well represented. You will hear an update on the UK National Cyber Security Strategy from Andy Gudgeon, Cabinet Office, while the effect of security on digital forensics will be explained by Mark Stokes, Head of Digital and Electronic Forensics, Metropolitan Police.
Cesare Garlati, VP Mobile Security, Trend Micro will look at smartphone security, encompassing new mobile platforms, security models and vulnerabilities of the latest phones, as well as some best-practice solutions for corporate users.
The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) strategy is something that has increasingly featured in company policy in recent years. Vijay Dheap, Global Mobile Security Strategist, IBM UK & Ireland will go through how to implement the strategy, using IBM’s experience. He will consider the best place to start, where you can reuse your existing security controls and the device coverage you can expect. There will also be the opportunity to debate the benefits, risks and challenges of the strategy in a panel discussion led by Mike Hawkes, Chairman of the Mobile Data Association.
The Security for Mobile Devices seminar will be held at RIBA, London, UK on 20 June 2012. You can book to attend online at http://conferences.theiet.org/mobile/index.cfm?origin=pro-security-zone |
