Detica, a member of the SmartReach Consortium, has commented on the NAO's recent report on smart metering.
"We read the recent NAO report on smart metering with interest and agree that, "...more work is required on security before roll-out starts". The smart metering implementation is a critically important programme to Great Britain and we are pleased to be playing a continuing role on the programme's Security Technical Experts Group; we have always advocated security and privacy by design as the most effective means of mitigating any potential underlying risk. We are keen to see additional resource and priority given to this, in order to ensure that these key areas achieve a greater focus," said Steve Daniels, Head of Information Assurance for the Energy and Utilities sector at Detica.
