Government ID Best Practice Presentation From Datacard

Datacard Group : 04 April, 2012  (Company News)
Datacard executive lined up to speak at ICMA Expo in Miami on the establishment of best practices for government ID programs
Government ID Best Practice Presentation From Datacard
Tim Klabunde, director of product and solutions marketing for Datacard Group, will be speaking at the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) 2012 Expo taking place on April 15th-18th, 2012 in Miami, Florida.

As the industry’s only global card manufacturing and personalization event, the 2012 ICMA EXPO will feature a variety of presentations from different perspectives and address management and technical matters, industry trends, personalization and production issues, as well as new applications and marketing tips.

The session that Klabunde will be giving is titled “Enabling Trusted Transactions: Achieving Security in Government ID Programs and Beyond,” which is scheduled on April 17 at 10:15 a.m. This presentation will walk attendees through the importance of establishing best practices for their government ID programs to enable trusted transactions and achieving highly secure applications. By implementing a portfolio that addresses every phase of the secure identity process—from enrollment to personalization to issuance to post-issuance management—organizations can maximize security and efficiency and gain flexibility to issue secure, personalized credentials using any issuance combination they choose.

“With the population growth, growing global economies and advancements in secure ID programs, governments and private organizations around the world are required to tackle issues from all angles,” said Klabunde.  “This includes the need to reduce the risk of fraud and theft by safeguarding consumer data, production data and access to the card issuance systems, without slowing the issuance process or sabotaging budgets. Having a secure integrated platform of products and services that helps improve customer service levels while streamlining operations and maintaining security is absolutely critical.”

Klabunde has extensive international experience in product marketing and development.  While at Datacard Group, he has led initiatives in the company’s financial and government vertical markets, and has most recently been focused on public sector identity and security programs.
