See our events guide listing for more details

The recent government security breaches and subsequent resignation of Assistant Commissioner Bob Quick have again highlighted the need for security professionals to be vigilant 24 hours a day. In this ever-changing climate of terrorism and economic turmoil, security threats can come from any direction and at any time: the need for security professionals to be prepared is greater than ever.

The recent raids in Manchester highlighted that the greatest threat, both nationally and internationally is still that of the Al-Qaeda group. At the IFSEC conference 2009, Hugh McLeod MBE, Chief Operating Officer of Stirling Assynt International Group will be unearthing Al-Qaeda's unpublished strategy and warning security professionals on their future plans.

Global terror is the opening module at the IFSEC conference, providing unique insights into international threats. Situated just five minutes from the IFSEC exhibition, delegates can also hear case studies on protecting CNI and best practice guidance on crisis management.

Speakers on day 1 include:

• DCI Chris Phillips, Head, National Counter Terrorism Security Office
• Stephen Cooper, Head of Security, Olympic Delivery Authority
• James Crask, Resilience Policy Manager, Cabinet Office
• Hagai Segal, Lecturer/Professor, New York University in London
• Nick van der Bijl, Chairman, National Association for Healthcare Security

With 9 modules and over 27 speakers, this year's IFSEC conference is the place to network and gain practical advice to enhance your security strategy.
