Gartner recognition for Clavister

Clavister : 29 July, 2009  (Company News)
Clavister listed as a niche player in multifunction firewalls by Gartner for its Unified Threat Management products
IP-based security and unified threat management (UTM) specialist, Clavister, has been positioned by Gartner in the Niche Players quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Small to Medium Sized Business (SMB) Multifunction Firewalls.

This research examines the SMB multifunction firewall market and Gartner defines SMB organizations as those having fewer than 1,000 employees.

Peter Johansson, CEO of Clavister said: "We feel our inclusion in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for SMB Multifunction Firewalls to be confirmation of our mission to help businesses and organizations to improve business performance. Network security is fundamental to protecting one of the most important business assets - its data."

SMBs have network security appliance needs that differ substantially from large enterprise requirements. SMBs sometimes opt for 'all in one' or multifunction security appliances built on the 'anchor' technology of the firewall. Additional security functions are added to the firewall, sometimes through a subscription fee. This is in contrast to large enterprises, which most often deploy firewalls and other network security functions on discrete appliances to ensure optimal network performance and risk mitigation through multiple security 'points of failure,' often from multiple best-of-breed vendors.

Johansson continues: "We are committed to developing innovative solutions and have a strong portfolio designed to meet the network security needs of organizations of all shapes and sizes. We have recently launched the SG4300 Series, a high performance UTM security solution, which should further enhance our market position."
