G4S USA Extends Campaign To Hire Returning Service Personnel

G4S (USA) : 13 June, 2012  (Company News)
American wing of security services company commits to hiring ex-military personnel to extend its existing skill set
G4S Secure Solutions (USA) plans to hire 6,000 returning military personnel by the end of 2013. So far, G4S has hired 3,000 such people across the US since the "White House Joining Forces" campaign started in 2011.

“I am proud that our company is continuing to be a sought-after employer for returning soldiers. G4S leads the security industry in providing quality security officer personnel. Our ex-service personnel are a key part of that,” said Drew Levine, President, G4S Secure Solutions USA.

The Joining Forces campaign was officially launched at Camp LeJeune in April 2011 by the First Lady, Michele Obama and Dr Jill Biden, wife of the Vice President. The comprehensive national initiative mobilises large and small companies and non-profit organizations in an effort to give service members opportunities and support.

Mrs Obama and Dr Biden stated a goal to build a program that can continue for years to come. “Our military families deserve our respect and support at every stage of their lives — no matter who’s in office,” Obama said.

“Joining Forces will be part of our continuing efforts at G4S to provide employment to our ex-military personnal and a showcase for their skills, experience and dedication,” said Levine.

G4S has consistently been recognized for military outreach initiatives. G4S was named within the GI Jobs Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list for three consecutive years. G4S has also been awarded "Most Valuable Employer (MVE) for Military by CivilianJobs.com.

“Our returning soldiers are a natural fit for our company,” says Dr Michael Goodboe, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, G4S Secure Solutions USA. “From entry level roles to senior management, military personnel have the right training and attitude to be promoted and succeed in the security profession.”

G4S is proud to have developed programs and services that target and build upon the excellent skills and training of our military personnel. These specialized skill sets, multiple levels of training, experience and qualifications allow us to design customized security programs that meet our customers’ specific needs.
