Future of Security Competition Seeks Creative Innovators

Next year's IFSEC event in the UK will see the results of a competition the organizers are launching to encourage innovation in the security industry and to find its most creative practitioners
This newly launched annual IFSEC Future of Security Competition from the organizers of IFSEC aims to:

* Find state-of-the-art security innovations
* Challenge the brightest minds in security technology from around the world to submit radically new ideas and game-changing technologies
* Uncover the creative capabilities of innovators in the security field

The competition will bring together the world's most promising technological innovations at IFSEC 2011 who will compete against each other in a live judging session. This is a unique opportunity for the chosen entrepreneurs to find capital, industry partners and government customers.


The competition is open worldwide to inventors, R&D, universities and small to medium sized businesses. Applicants must offer a technological innovation that can be used to prevent, defend against or recover from any kind of security threat. Entry is free of charge.

Prizes & Awards

- Minimum of $10,000 cash award
- Exposure at IFSEC 2011
- Mentorship from industry leaders
- 'Stamp of Approval' from expert panel

Competition Timeline:

- September 2010 - Official launch of competition ("Call for entrants")
- January 31, 2011 - Deadline for submissions
- February 2011 - 1st Round Judging (online) to arrive at the chosen Finalists
- May 2011 - Final *live* Judging Panel & Award Ceremony at IFSEC in Birmingham
