Free warranty extension for GETAC notebooks to 5 years on new purchases

GETAC : 05 January, 2010  (New Product)
GETAC has introduced a 5-year warranty on its full range of rugged laptop computers in recognition of the extended lifecycle expectations on computer assets in the industry
Getac will offer a new 5-year warranty as standard on its complete line of fully rugged notebook computers and tablets, delivered on or after 1st January 2010. The new Getac 5-year warranty protection will allow Getac customers to enjoy the benefit of a 2-year warranty extension at no additional cost - a far superior offering to the typical 3-year warranties provided in the rugged industry today.

Getac's line of fully rugged notebook computers and tablets are among the most reliable in the industry, an impressive accomplishment when considering the extreme environments that Getac products are typically used in. "The new 5-year warranty is a statement of confidence to the reliability of Getac rugged computers,' explains Peter Molyneux, Business Development Director, Getac UK. 'Typically, computers have been upgraded on a three-year cycle. But with today's economic climate, customers are opting to keep assets into the fourth and fifth year. Getac's new 5-year warranty will enable Getac users and corporate purchasing departments to better plan IT budgets, ensuring there are no hidden costs and full use of the equipment over its lifetime. In addition, we're providing the reassurance that the total cost of owning our products is essentially 'all-inclusive' for five years."

The new Getac 5-year warranty will also allow customers to minimise downtime while maximising profitability, particularly in large utility and government organisations whose process for requesting and receiving spending approval to repair an out-of-warranty computer is a time-consuming process. Offering the 5-year warranty provides IT departments with the opportunity to better manage its assets by knowing the projected costs of a computer's lifespan at the time of purchase. The new Getac 5-year warranty underlines the company's focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
