Bitdefender will offer LinkedIn members access to free security software via the LinkedIn Safety Centre. The LinkedIn Safety Centre is designed to provide LinkedIn’s 225 million plus members with the tools and knowledge to protect their identity and data on the Internet.
“Businesses and professionals are the high-value targets that online criminals seek out for bank fraud, identity theft, account hijacking and other cyber crime,” said Bitdefender Chief Security Strategist Catalin Cosoi. “We’ve been developing innovative technologies and strategies to fight these crimes for more than a decade, and we’re eager to help.”
Through the LinkedIn Safety Centre, Bitdefender is offering small businesses and individuals complete security from malware, phishing and other malicious online activity for three months through free trials of two flagship products.
Bitdefender Cloud Security for Small Businesses deploys Bitdefender’s award-winning anti-malware technology to protect small business networks with remote control PC protection, anti-phishing technology, productivity controls and other features tailored to business users.
Bitdefender Total Security 2013 offers LinkedIn members protection on social networks, access to the world’s most effective anti-malware technology, a fine-tuned spam filter, anti-phishing, chat encryption and more.
Bitdefender leads the industry with its acclaimed technologies. In April, testing by independent antivirus analysis firm AV-Comparatives, Bitdefender was the only one of the 21 participants to catch 100% of the malware thrown at it. The result came a month after Bitdefender came first in trials by AV-TEST, the other major independent analysis firm, with a perfect score.
In an awards ceremony earlier this year, Bitdefender was named Product of the Year for 2012 by AV-Comparatives, after it scored a perfect three stars in eight rounds of testing.
