Free Jubilee IT Security For 25 Charities

Sophos : 26 October, 2010  (Company News)
Sophos is celebrating a quarter of a century of operations by giving away IT security licences to selected charities and non-profit organisations
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Sophos, the UK-founded IT security and data protection firm, is offering 25 charities the opportunity to benefit from 12 month's free IT security.

The 25 successful charities or non-profit organisations will benefit from 25 free 12-month licences for Sophos Endpoint Security and Control. All they have to do to take advantage of the offer is to answer the following simple question by 3 December 2010:

In which year was Sophos founded?
a) 1990
b) 1980
c) 1985

To answer the question and be in with a chance of winning, charities should visit the Sophos website.

Sophos's birthday treat comes at a time when charities are severely struggling from a lack of external funding. The company hopes that the contribution will go a small way to helping the successful charities cope with this lack of funding by protecting their data and security.

Ciaran Rafferty, vice president for Sophos UK & Ireland said: "We felt that an initiative like this was a great way to celebrate our 25th anniversary and a reflection of Sophos's ongoing commitment to non-profit organisations, both in the local community and nationally. It's a fantastic opportunity, particularly for smaller charities who may struggle to fund this kind of cost, and provides them with the ability to reallocate funds to the front line for a twelve-month period".

Any charity is eligible to enter the event, as long as it meets the criteria stipulated in the terms and conditions.

Since its inception in 1985, Sophos has provided protection against some of the most notorious internet attacks. From the Love Bugs to Code Red and Slammer, Sophos has been protecting organisations around the world from threats designed to disrupt networks, steal identities and scoop up confidential data.
