Free Fire-Lite Alarm training courses available

Fire-Lite Alarms : 20 October, 2009  (Company News)
Two- and Three-day training courses have been scheduled across the USA for users of Fire-Lite fire alarm systems
Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell continues to host its traditional series of fire alarm systems training courses free-of-charge throughout the US. Courses cover a wide range of technical information, including installation, programming and trouble-shooting with practical hands-on exercises using the latest fire alarm control and IP communication products from Fire-Lite Alarms.

According to Fire-Lite Alarms' Instructional Curriculum Developer and Senior Technical Trainer, Tom Rosa, demand for training is up. 'Course enrolment is topping-out more than ever and I think it's because of the top-notch education students receive. The high-level of instruction combined with many hands-on labs is very unusual for a free class,' says Rosa. 'Many are coming to learn more about addressable systems and move away from conventional technology. Others are looking for additional hands-on training with the panels and our new IP Communicator.'

This year, Fire-Lite's training schedule includes more than 60 courses taking place nationwide, free-of-charge. Training sessions in 2009 with room still available are as follows:

Portland, OR MiniScan October 27-29
Dallas, TX SuperLite November 4-5
Cleveland, OH Mini Scan November 3-5
Jacksonville, FL MiniScan November 10-12
Northford, CT MiniScan November 17-19
Memphis, TN MiniScan November 17-19
Miami, FL MiniScan December 1-3

MiniScan Academy (3 Days) - A three-day training course that begins with a half-day Basic Fire Alarm Technology course covering the basic building blocks of modern conventional and addressable fire alarm systems. It covers the primary and secondary functions of a fire alarm control panel, various initiating and notification devices, digital communicators, waterflow alarm and sprinkler monitoring. The academy continues with training on Fire-Lite's conventional and addressable fire alarm control panels. Product features, installation methods, programming and troubleshooting are taught through practical hands-on exercises. Installation and configuration of Fire-Lite's IPDACT, a module that enables the transmission of alarms from a fire alarm control panel via any IP network line (ie ADSL, cable, Internet), is also covered.

New for 2009! A final segment on Power Supply Fundamentals has been enhanced to include a hands-on practical exercise covering the most common applications using Fire-Lite's FCPS-24FS series power supplies.

SuperLite Academy (2 Days) - A two-day course featuring instruction and hands-on exercises in the capabilities, installation, programming and troubleshooting of all Fire-Lite manufactured addressable control panels. The SuperLite Academy will wrap-up with two hours of installation and configuration training on Fire-Lite's IPDACT module that enables the transmission of alarms from a fire alarm control panel via any IP network line (i.e. ADSL, cable, Internet).
