Four New SANS Security Courses Offered in Belgium

SANS EMEA has announced its first event in Belgium offering four courses including the debut of SEC505: Securing Windows and Resisting Malware which has been updated to cover new Windows 8 technologies. SANS Belgium 2013 will run from February 18th to 23rd at the NH Hotel du Grand Sablon in the heart of Brussels.

The event includes Security 401: SANS Security Essentials Bootcamp Style offering the opportunity to learn the language and underlying theory of computer security. The course provides essential, up-to-the-minute knowledge and skills required for people responsible for securing systems and organisations. Security 401 is endorsed by the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) NSTISSI 4013 Standard for Systems Administrators in Information Systems Security (INFOSEC).

The event will also host SANS Security 542: Web App Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking course taught by Pieter Danhieux, a top information security expert at Ernst & Young and SANS instructor. “The course stresses the need to understand how to use multiple attack techniques in context,” explains Danhieux, “The course teaches the tools and methods of the attacker, so that you can be a powerful defender.”

SANS Certified Instructor Steve Armstrong will be teaching the SANS Security 504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits & Incident Handling. The six day course is aimed at helping information security professionals understand attackers' tactics and strategies with hands-on experience in finding vulnerabilities and discovering intrusions. The course is designed to equip IT professionals with a comprehensive incident handling plan and the legal issues associated with responding to computer attacks, including employee monitoring, working with law enforcement, and handling evidence.

“We have a commitment to try and bring our training events to more countries across Europe,” explains Gareth Dance, Conference Director, EMEA, “Brussels offers us a great opportunity to deliver a wide range of courses and the timing is beneficial for organisations within the last phases of annual budget spend.”

SANS is also offering an “Early Bird” discount of up to up to €250 for any full course paid for by January 9th of 2013.
