Follow-on Rapiscan orders for US airports

OSI Systems : 07 May, 2008  (Application Story)
Further American airports to gain X-ray screening systems for passenger baggage security checking.
OSI Systems has announced that its Security division, Rapiscan Systems, has been awarded a follow on order for $4.4 million from the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for its 620DV Advanced Technology X-ray systems. The order was placed under the company's previously announced Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract with the TSA that included follow on options of up to $97 million.

The order will be used to fulfil the deployment of Advanced Technology (AT) Passenger Carry-On Bag Screening Systems at select US airport locations.

Rapiscan Systems President Ajay Mehra stated, "We are committed to supporting the TSA's efforts to deploy advanced technology systems at hundreds of airport checkpoints by year's end. Under the terms of the program we will provide production, field service and program management support to the US government."
