Fibre optic perimeter protection at IFSEC
Hundreds of installations around the world, in some of the most hostile environments on the planet, are protected by a unique fibre optic perimeter intrusion detection system developed and manufactured by Future Fibre Technologies. Visitors to IFSEC will have a rare opportunity to see this next generation technology first hand.

Designers and manufacturers of world leading fibre optic sensing technologies, Future Fibre Technologies (FFT) will be exhibiting its latest products, and demonstrating some of its next generation technology at IFSEC, to be held at the Birmingham NEC in the UK from May 12th to 15th.

The company will be showcasing its unique products, including the recently upgraded Secure Fence and Secure Pipe systems, both of which now incorporate FFT's Alarm Recognition and Discrimination (ARaD) technology, which has been designed specifically to eliminate costly nuisance alarms.

In addition, the newly released multilingual FFT CAMS, which delivers an even more intuitive and easy to understand alarm interface to security staff in their local language, including English, Arabic, Chinese and French, will be available for review. Russian and Spanish versions will be officially released at IFSEC, with a Japanese version currently under development.

Dr. Jim Katsifolis, FFT's Chief Technology Officer says his company is committed to an extensive and on-going R&D program to continue to respond to customers needs.

"We are focussed on not only enhancing the performance of our intrusion detection products but to increase our products' usability, versatility and capabilities by interfacing them with as broad a range of systems and technologies as possible," Dr Katsifolis says.

"We are continually enhancing and improving our systems to meet real-world customer needs," Dr Katsifolis says. "It's a constant process of listening to our customers' needs and working to meet them."

The company has experienced significant growth over recent years as the market has begun to understand the truly unique capabilities of FFT's next generation fibre optic sensing technologies.

Since its establishment in 1994, FFT has successfully positioned itself to be the technology of choice for large perimeter applications, pipeline monitoring and communications/data network security, with hundreds of systems being deployed globally, in applications ranging from Government & Military installations in the USA through to the oil and gas industry including the recent installation at 7 LNG facilities and major sea ports located in the Middle East.

This strong growth has lead to FFT announcing the forthcoming opening of 2 new offices - one in Europe and another in the Middle East to better serve these markets.
