Explosive detection contract for US army

ADA Technology Services : 05 March, 2009  (Application Story)
ADA Technologies to supply American army with explosive detection technique for protection of troops and civilians in conflict zones
ADA Technologies has received a $1.37 million contract for explosive materials detection work. ADA Technologies has been contracted to develop technologies for the US army that will enhance techniques for the detection of explosives not available in current systems.

ADA has developed and patented a technique that enhances the ability of off-the-shelf detection systems to detect explosive materials. The technique has applications in any situation where detection of trace levels of explosives is an important safety and security requirement.

"The detection of explosives is critical to our country's global security operations," said Clifton Brown, ADA president and CEO. "ADA's sophisticated detection equipment will help the US army combat the unconventional warfare techniques in use by our enemies, thereby improving the safety of civilians and troops in areas of conflict."

This is the first phase of a three-phase contract. The majority of the work for this contract will be done in ADA Technologies' Laramie, Wyoming office where ADA has hired four new people in 2008, and expects to hire three additional people in 2009 to support the project.
