European Identity Conference opens its doors

European Identity Conference : 06 May, 2009  (New Product)
Kuppinger Cole is continuing to see success in its conferences on identity management wit the 3rd EIC starting today
The 3rd European Identity Conference 2009 (EIC), which has opened its doors today, has already been a resounding success. This year's conference continues to generate a lot of interest despite the difficult economic climate. With more than 50 exhibitors, the venue has established itself as Europe's leading event on the topic. All big names in identity management will be represented there, which means that the EIC 2009 will provide the most comprehensive access to European identity management providers in one single venue.

The number of attendees of the conference has also experienced a marked increase. In particular, the percentage of end users has significantly increased. They are now the largest group among attendees. The European character of the EIC is particularly apparent in the fact that by now, more than one third of all attendees come from outside Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Altogether, participants from four continents will be attending the conference.

The event schedule, which is divided into four separate tracks, will be led by more than 130 speakers and will include more than 30 Best Practice presentations. The European Identity Conference will also provide a broad overview of trends and practical implementation of identity and access management projects and GRC (Governance, Risk Management, Compliance). The focal point will be on the development of GRC and user centric identity management, and will also feature the increasingly complex interlink between identity and access management and SOA (Service Oriented Architectures), as well as the implementation of IAM and GRC for cloud computing.

In addition to the numerous Best Practice presentations, the conference will also provide a number of panels, where industry experts and analysts from Kuppinger Cole will provide up to date information about their various analyses of the market for IAM and GCR.

Joerg Resch, CEO of Kuppinger Cole believes that the conference has continued to expand in 2009 - despite current market trends in the area of conference attendance - due to the relevance of the topics, and the attractive programme for the event: 'Particularly in times, when risk awareness in companies is on the increase, solid action is required. IAM and GRC are among the IT topics that are still experiencing growth today. The European Identity Conference provides all relevant information in a compact format, as well as access to all of the major providers in the sector.'
