Ergonomics expert joins Winsted control room specialists.

Winsted : 26 November, 2007  (Company News)
Postgraduate expert in control room human factors and ergonomics joins Winsted to factor improved ergonomic considerations into CCTV control room furniture design.
Control room furniture specialists Winsted announce that they have retained the services of PhD student Hina Keval.

Hina will act as a consultant on all new major projects to ensure that advice offered to Winsted's clients in respect of the design of their control rooms takes into account important ergonomics issues.

"We have always taken great pride in our ability to offer our clients expert advice on how control rooms can be customised to meet specific operational requirements, "said Harry Whale, General Manager. "With Hina joining our team we will now be able to comprehensively address all issues relating to control room design including the human factors."

Hina, a usability consultant and a completing PhD computer science student at University College London (UCL), has published a number of research papers addressing CCTV and control room issues, including "CCTV Control Room Collaboration and Communication: Does it Work?" and "Man or Gorilla? Performance Issues with CCTV Technology in Security Control Rooms."

Harry added: "The knowledge that Hina has acquired through her ongoing research will allow us to take the quality of service that we offer our clients to a much higher level. As a result we will be encouraging clients to involve Winsted at the conceptual stage of the development of their control rooms."
