Surveillance specialist Network Optix has launched a dot release of its Video Management System (VMS) HD Witness which is now available at version 1.4 encompassing improvements in functionality and useability.
Taking advantage of the growth in mobile platforms within the enterprise, foremost on the list of enhancements is the ability to use a client on smartphones and mobile devices using the Android platform.
Other functional enhancements include an embedded player and interactive help, multi-video export, the ability to export videos with rendered timestamps and global time synchronization.
From a user's standpoint, things have been made easier on HD Witness v1.4 with improvements to the user interface and the inclusion of automatic system updates. The VMS can also use public IP for Media Server.
For security managers and network operators, the ease of intallation of the product as well as simplicity in use and maintenance are combined with a software architecture that has been optimized to make the most efficient use of enterprise bandwidth.
